Say that 3 times really fast !
I just finished my first diamond tufted headboard. My #1 tip: Don’t drill your thumb nail ! I’ve sewn it with the machine, stapled it to a cornice and now drilled it, hazards of the job I suppose.
This one also had a 2” shirred band all the way around the outside.
Traditionally, the diamonds are taller than they are wide, I used 7/8” buttons on this one.
Beth, at The Stories of A to Z is looking for ideas so here are a few more of my headboards………..

Funky shape and fat cord:
Smooth border:

Oh my gosh, LOVE that tufted headboard you just finished, Tammy! The fabric is great, too, probably because it matches my own master bedroom! :) I love the others as well. They make such a statement.
Tammy, I am in awe! These are amazing! Absolutely stunning!!!
I'm sorry, but I had to laugh about drilling your thumb! I've sewn my fingers, hammered them and probably stapled them but I haven't drilled them yet! But I wouldn't be surprised if I did! I can relate!
Your work is beautiful. I hear you about the hazards of sewing - be careful! I featured your blog at stylesson today.
Glad you like it Kathy, the thumb is healing nicely ! Thanks for the feature Marcy, so sweet of you !
Simply Amazing! Great attention to detail! Janell
As usual, your work is gorgeous, Tammy. I love them ALL (the double nailhead is probably my all time favorite, though) and the tufted one is really quite beautiful. Love the added detail of the band.
Tammy your headboard is amazing!! I love it!!Where do you live again?
