Fabric Table Skirt

I finally decided what to make for the empty spot in the foyer… a fabric table skirt. First, I needed a fabric that would transition from our pea green study to the peacock blue in the family room and also pull in the yellow from the kitchen, since the whole bottom floor is open.  Tada, it does exist…….

Then, I needed a table to fit into the nook. That’s where my 14 year old son (soon to be 15) comes in. He was a little worried until he found out that none of the table would actually show……..

Now, it’s time to shop the house for things that are green, yellow and blue. The lily painting painting by Mr. Stitches Dad is perfect here. I stole the “Live what you love” print by Made by Girl from the guest room and the blue butterfly was just the right size to cover 4 nail holes from a previous picture !  Hire me to make your window treatments not to paint your house because I don’t patch holes :)

It just needs a turquoise lamp so this one can go back to the family room.

Painted Interior Door

I finally painted the interior side of my front door, it’s BM Midnight 2131.  It took one coat of primer and 2 coats of paint.

I’m loving the way it looks with the staircase.

Foyer

The first two photos are of my foyer. The bench has moved around with me and been covered in many fabrics over the years. Every foyer needs a happy doggie to greet you at the end of the day. The picture hanging above the bench has a stone statue of a lion inside of it.
(Yes, Leos live here !)
The other side has a mirrored table that I bought from someone on Craigslist. (I was a little obsessed with that site for a while) :) The wall sculpture came from a Chelsea House warehouse sale. I got it for $5 and painted it, what a bargain !
The bottom photo is a corner of the family room. Sitting on top of the round metal table is a wine rack that I turned into a magazine rack. The painting of our furbaby is by Jeremy's dad, Curley Granger. He did such an amazing job. Don't you think it looks just like her ?
