So, I skipped ahead a little bit to share an upholstered bed that I just made last week. My client wanted a bed like the one in the picture above. She picked out a beautiful, shimmery fabric, brushed nickel pyramid shaped nail heads and mahogany tapered feet.
The king size bed was made in 4 pieces and assembled on site. At a height of 62” I said many prayers about it making it up to the third floor !
Here’s a close up of the 400 individual nail heads. Just a heads up if you are thinking about trying them……. they not only have to be lined up evenly but they have to be “squared” with each other too.
I think I’m ready to do another one…………… Who wants one ?

Great job. That looks great. I'm not sure I would make it through all of those nails.
Me! It's amazing. Your clients must LOVE it.
It turned out beautifully, Tammy! I think all those nail heads would have driven me batty though! Her drapes look pretty nice, too ~ I'd love to see those as well.
Gorgeous! Those nailheads must have been torture to put in, but your work is perfect!
Very pretty, you did an excellent job....Christine
Turned out just beautiful. I thought those things came in strips. Didn't realize you had to tap them in individually. It looks amazing.

So pretty!! I love the double nail heads and I'm thinking about doing this in my bedroom, any tips for getting the nailheads so prefect?
Hi Tammy!
What a fantastic job you did with this headboard and bed. I love nailheads and you executed them perfectly!
That headboard is GORGEOUS! How long did those nailheads take though, sheesh!
Brilliant! It looks amazing, you truly are very clever. I would love make something like this. I'd be very grateful if you would be so kind as to provide just a quick lil blurb on how you did this. Is that piping I see around the headboard edges?
Insanely beautiful. Happy clients I'm sure!
