Dresser To TV Stand

The trend towards BIG tvs leaves you with the question of, "Where the heck am I going to put that ?" It certainly doesn't fit in my armoire ! So, when Mr. Stitches came home with one I had to come up with something to put it on, preferably without spending $1,000.00 for a tv stand.

After much shopping and debating I decided to move my bedroom dresser downstairs and turn it into a tv stand. I went to the hardware store and bought 3 kinds of hinges; because I didn't know which one would work. I took the drawer apart and attached the face of the drawer with the hinges so the cable box and Wii could sit inside. There are lots of drawers for movies, games and remotes. Cost : $8.00 !
I'm posting this on Between Naps on the Porch, go check out all the other projects.......

My goal is to have 100 followers by Halloween. If I reach that goal I'm going to do a fabric giveaway. So please, please click on that button on the left that says follow !! Thank You !

Very creative use of a piece that you already had and I like the way you modified the drawer so that the cable box and Wii could sit inside. Clever! Have a great week...

Stopping in from SITS! GREAT IDEA!! My husband came home with one of those TV's too, and I wish I would have thought of something like this. It would have been nice to have more than just the two tiny drawers of storage on the TV stand we bought.

Your dresser looks so grand and lovely. Good thing you were willing to give it up. Nice job on transforming it into a TV stand, though. You are right, the reliable TV stands are so expensive these days, we really need to be resourceful and innovative.
