I just returned from a window coverings convention called INSPIRE and that’s exactly what it did for me !
Have you heard different names for pleats but don’t know what they look like ? Well, I was inspired to finally make a sample panel with four different pleat styles so my customers can see them in person.
From Left to Right: Box pleat, double box pleat, Euro pleat, goblet.
This is my new favorite pleat: the double box pleat with a covered button.
These are a few samples from class:
Hand smocking with little brass buttons….. GORGEOUS !
This panel is box pleated on the pattern and the leading edge is scalloped on the pattern, so creative.
This pic makes me giggle. Have you heard of the uppydowny thing on a sewing machine ? Well, I got some cool new feet (that’s really the name) that sew fringe without tearing it and a roller foot that’s good for sewing velvet and thick fabrics.

I’m most excited about my new Wolf scissors, they cut like buttah !
It’s nice being around so many people that share you passion and whose eyes don’t glaze over when you talk about things like: jabots, fullness, skirtex, bartackers and jukis.
Which header style is your favorite ?

Love them all, Tammy, but I think looking at your sample, the goblet is my favorite at the moment.
great, I love the sampling! you make so many lovelies that inspire me!
I want to go to a convention like this! What fun! I've not noticed the double box pleat before. I like it! And the scalloped edge on the circle fabric is so clever! Sounds like it was lots of fun!
I like the first simple box pleat. Always a winner with me. How nice that you made up the sample for you customers to see the different styles. Very clever of you.
