Moving Things Around

Some pieces of furniture are bought for a particular spot in our homes but I love the pieces that can get moved around to different rooms and work there too ! It’s like getting new furniture. This bench has been in my foyer, at the breakfast table, in my bedroom and now it’s sitting in my office/study.

That’s when the musical chairs game starts because the console table that was there needs to find a new home. Try the foyer…no, too deep, how about the bedroom…… this spot never felt right to me.

Yes, a perfect place to make a perfume bar………

As long as I’m glamming it up, might as well have a cute place for my jewelry. So, the mirrored table moves from the foyer to the bedroom.

When I moved the bench to the study then I had to move the old bench back to the master. It’s time for new fabric because my dog ruined the cream cut velvet. Do you like this one ?

Somehow, I ended up with an empty spot in my foyer nook. Just need to decide what to build for there, a bookcase, a rectangle table with fabric skirt or a bench with a tall tufted back.

Master Sweet !

I wanted my master bedroom to be soothing and peaceful so I choose and blue and brown color scheme. First, I painted the bold horizontal stripes on the wall. All you really need for this is a laser level, a long yardstick and tape. It was relatively easy and quick. I found a blue suede fabric with diamonds stitched in from Fabricut for the drapery panels and fell in love with it. Then, I saw a picture of a duvet cover in a magazine and I used it as an inspiration to make mine. I now have matching side tables and lamps that I got for Christmas. I should take an updated picture but that would require making my bed today and I don't think that is going to happen. ;)

In the bathroom I took out the cookie cutter vanity complete with chrome strip lights and put in these Asian inspired free standing sinks. Thanks Dad, it never would have happened without all your hard work. I got a new door for the water closet for Christmas and Jeremy put the frost tint on the glass for me.
