We put draperies that traverse on the triple window and roman shades on the single windows. They are lined with a napped lining. A napped lining is a lining that has an interlining on one side and lining on the other. It gives the face fabric a nice soft look and feel.
Roman shades are an affordable option for your windows because they use very little fabric. There are many styles to choose from. These are straight across the bottom and give a more tailored look.
They are one of my favorite styles, I have seven of them in my home.
Do you like roman shades ?
I don't have any, but I do like them. These look great! I like the fabric and you, of course, did a great job fabricating them. Hope you're having a good day...

I love roman shades, Tammy, and have them in 3 of our 4 bedrooms, and in a couple of other rooms in our downstairs. I have also used stripes in some of the rooms as well. Some are with a valance, some are under stationery panels or drapes, and I love that you get the fabric at the window {without needing a lot of it} and a functional treatment. I'd have to say they are probably my favorite window treatment.
ReplyDeleteLove the way your install turned out!
They look fantastic....love them !!
ReplyDeleteWe added a sunroom recently and I have a bank of (8)windows 23" W in a row, I was going to put in bamboo shades...I am still looking, still thinking...I wonder how something like this would look ???
I sure bet this home owner was very happy !!!
Kathy :)
I like soft roman shades...the kind that droop in the middle and made of sheer fabrics. My home is casual in feel, so I'm afraid a more tailored style might look stiff. One of my favorite looks, though, are bamboo shades with soft sheer panels on the sides.
ReplyDeleteYour shades look wonderful in the bedroom suite, and fit the style to a 'T'. Beautiful!
peace.
Kathy, I love bamboo shades too. Do you need privacy in your sunroom ?
ReplyDeleteCindy, I bet you would love the ones we hung in the dining room. I need to post those, they were a cream crinkle relaxed shade.
I LOVE roman shades. I have tailored ones in our family room, and I'm hoping to be able to sew some for the other rooms in our house. Great post. I just love the stripe in the shade you made.
ReplyDeleteHi Tammy,
ReplyDeleteJust on one side ...I need, not toal blackout privacy, but when we're out there I'd like us not to be on parade !!! The windows are like I said 23"W with a transom window on top...I would want to hang the shade from there...
Thanks,
Kathy :)
I adore Roman shades. That is a really good point about the small amount of fabric needed when you use a stripe.
ReplyDeleteFan of the Romans here! and I am liking that iron ornament over the dresser too..
ReplyDeleteI would like them if I had more light in my house. I do like the look!
