Fabric Photo Friday

Friday is going to be devoted to fabrics and photos of fabrics !  I just finished upholstering my dark leather ottoman with this great chenille that has a diamond pattern.

BG CUSTOM WINDOWS

When our WCAA group toured Virginia Quilting last May we were able to shop in their fabric outlet.  All their leftover fabric is for sale for a really good price.

This is the fabric that I picked up to recover the ottoman.  There is a dark side and a light side, like on an oriental rug.

My other project was making a new cover for Zoe’s bed.  I found an old duvet cover that I made for the guest bed in a closet.  I just cut it down to fit her bed, it already had velcro in the top.

Slowly but surely, the room is getting lighter !
I’ve been playing around with my camera and Darcy’s tutorial was so helpful in learning about photography.  If you have a nice camera and don’t know how to use it then her series is for you !

I love those drapes. I think they are my favorite so far! And compared to what was up there before I think these really do lighten the space. Have a good weekend.

I certainly share your fabric love! I love that you do your own upholstery. I am so interested in learning how. Are you self-taught or did you take a class?

Yes, Zoe is quite the ham ! First, I made it as a slipcover and it looked horrible and wouldn't stay put. So I took it apart and decided to staple it in place at the bottom. Headboards are really the only upholstery that I do.

Love it ! I just brought some new fabric today myself. I have my eye on an antique bench... I want to re-do it with this dark brown fabric that has been calling my name. lol I am taking a chance that the price will go down, so I am holding out, keep your fingers crossed for me. I love the ottoman, the fabric is wonderful.
