Fabric Photo Friday #2

I’ve been seeing fabric trays all over lately so I decided to experiment with making some.  This one was made with a scrap of fabric, mod podge and an old baking tray from the kitchen cabinet.

BG CUSTOM WINDOWS

I covered the bottom with mod podge, put the fabric on and then just worked each corner and wrapped the fabric to the back.  Then apply another coat of mod podge on top and let dry.

BG CUSTOM WINDOWS

It will be all white but don’t worry, it will dry clear.  It’s really messy and reminded a lot of kindergarten !

Here he is all finished……

I’ve always had a thing for monkeys but lately I’ve been into elephants !

What about you….. What animals are making their way into your décor ?

I’ll be linking to BNOP’s party.

Wow, I love it! I'm working on adding color to my sewing room with some of my favorite fabrics. I plan on making a sewing machine cover, embroidery unit cover and a cover for my thread racks. I might even tackle reupholstering my chair. The chair doesn't need it but I would like it to be covered in something bright and fun. I've been thinking about the walls. I need inspiration for wall art with fabric. Your tray is so pretty and looks simple enough. Maybe I'll come across something equally as cute for my walls. Love your blog!

What a terrific idea! Does it matter what kind of fabric? I suppose a light cotton might work best? Thanks so much for leaving a comment on my t-shirt blanket. You asked about batting, and when I use it, I put it between the two pieces of t-shirt and sew them together the same. I bind the raw edges with crochet thread. These blanket aren't perfect, but they are useable! I will look back and see if I can add a link to my "other" one I did, WITH the batting. Check back tomorrow and hopefully I'll have added it. Thanks again for stopping by. Sandi

This is such a great idea! I was at a Good Will store today and could have picked up a tray to do this project. I'll have to go back tomorrow.

ps - I still don't know what to do with all my corks!

Wow...I need to do this! Wonder if it will work well with old, very used baking pans? Fabulous idea!

I think it would work old pans, maybe hit it with some sandpaper first.
