Office Space

I have my office space downstairs in the study and my workroom on the third floor.  Running up and down the stairs is a little inconvenient at times but it keeps me skinny !

I was over at Bryn Alexander’s and got inspired to finally cover my mouse pad with a scrap of my drapery fabric.  What….. your mouse pad doesn’t match your drapes ?

My Inspiration board with pretty images and sayings……… An inspiration board is a place where you can collect things that inspire you to create.  It can have magazine pictures, quotes, flowers, keepsakes, fabrics, poems  or anything that gets your creative juices flowing.  I have a tip on mine that says, “When opportunity knocks, open the door, for heaven’s sake !”

Flicker has a lot of photos to get you inspired to make one….

What about you, do you already have one ?

Hi Tammy , read your question about the black fence post. I do not know where that pict came from, sorry. I have so many pictures saved before my blogging days. I am so new to all this I am just learning the proper etiquette and methods of saving photos. Unfortunately I am computer handi-capped so it is taking me awhile to catch on. Isn't that an amazing backyard, Oh to have a gardner that could keep all of that pruned. Do you like your black fence and how big is it? You saw my Great Wall I just am not sure about that much black but it is still in my thought process. Have a great day!! Kathysue

Love your pen holder! I haven't made definite plans to go to market in April, ALTHOUGH everyone, and I mean EVERYONE is going this spring. When I went last fall no one went. Now I plan not to go and everyone else is! I may go just so I can meet everyone!

I love that fabric that you chose for your mouse pad! Which must mean I love your drapes, too, right? :-) Of course I do.

I have tried inspiration boards so many times.... they always end up looking like pure junk, I forget about it for months at a time, the clippings start to curl and/or turn yellow! And, the board itself is usually not hanging quite straight; all in all, I'm not a big fan! I DO have magnetic strips: they come in varying lengths and are about 4" high. Container Store has them in a few colors. I find they keep things a little neater! I also use magnets on all my file cabinets...

And yes, I know what you mean about those stairs: for almost ten years I had an office/studio in a 4th floor walk up building! And it was old, with very steep, long stairs.... still amazes me how I trekked everything up there every day. Does keep you fit!

Thanks for commenting on my "Glass Lighting"; take a look at that candle pendant from Restoration Hardware! It's different, but really neat...
Love your blog: I'll be checking it every day.
And, love that doggie!

Laptop, no mousepad anymore...and no inspiration board. I think I'm a loser here! What is on the floor of your office?

It is wild, but I like it (the rug for those who are wondering). I thought it was a quilt and I couldn't imagine how it was staying put!

I love that you covered your mousepad! Mine is looking quite dingy lately!

Love your office. And your whole blog! Thanks so much for commenting on mine. You were my second comment ever! you do gorgeous work. I'm going to attempt to redo my own drapes in my office (without my workroom) for a cheap, temporary solution. A pro like you should get a kick out of it. I'll keep you posted on my progress.

Thank you for your sweet comment on my studio post! I love the rug in your space. Third floor???? Yes. Skinny! Awesome!

And now I just HAVE to cover my mousepad. Why, just the other day I was thinking this RED mp doesn't go with my life. What to do? Did you just glue some fabric on top?

And I'm currently working on my inspiration board. After the slipcover and the tassels and the painted chair, of course! OH, and I'm redoing my entire house - since I started blogging a couple months ago. There are so many gifted people here. So glad I met you!
