Why Custom Window Treatments Over Ready Made

INSIDER'S GUIDE
Carefully chosen window treatments can do wonders for the look and feel of a room. Besides their obvious practical functions, they can be used to set a mood, enhance the home's style, or create illusions.

Custom window treatments are typically made with higher quality fabric and linings. There is usually much more attention to details such as careful pattern matching and placement. A skilled drapery maker will evaluate a fabric's print and determine the best place to make cuts. With custom treatments you have a much greater selection of fabric choices so you get a fabric that perfectly complements your decor and a treatment that fits your window exactly. Just like fine furniture and art, custom draperies are an investment that will greatly enhance your home's decor.
Next time I will discuss what things you should consider before purchasing fabric.

My goal is to have 100 followers by Halloween. If I reach that goal I'm going to do a fabric giveaway. So please, please click on that button on the left that says follow !! Thank You !

So true! I wish everyone could read this post! Thanks for visiting today. I did not like the room either , until joan ask if it was a doctor/dentist office...I would love it as a waiting room...I wonder.

I totally agree with you. About half the window treatments in my house are custom {done at different times over the past 19 years}. Hope you reach your goal!

I had custom roman shades made for my family room, and I love them. I can't wait to read more of your insights!

I never thought of custom made drapes. My husband and I renovated our kitchen and we're down the last tiny details. Our windows are bare. I just can't think of what to put on them. I have a picture window that looks out to the backyard, french doors, and small window over sink. Would love some ideas.

Welcome to SITS. :)

Another reason to go for custom is to get the width you need - my windows seem to be wider than average (although not huge) and the choice of wider panels in ready-made is dire. :)
I signed up to follow, hope you reach your goal!
